Licensed and insured, I have over 20 yrs of catfishing/fishing experience. I know the channels, the rivers, the lakes, and I know catfish. My goal is to save you the hassle, time and frustration of planning where to go for catfish and what the fish are biting. Don't worry about bait and tackle. I'll take care of it. You just sit back and see if you can't land that twenty pounder. Expect to laugh out loud, have fun and enjoy a day on the water.
Catfishing begins in May and ends in November (before ice-over). Between May and June we see the biggest catfish. Flathead cats, the King of the river, typically bite early morning & evening. Channel Catfish, found in our local lakes, bite all day long and aren't picky eaters.
We supply all rods & reels – but bring your own if you like. We'll provide terminal tackle, Coast Guard Approved personal floatation devices (adult sizes only), First Aid kit, reliable boat and bait.
You must bring: A current State of Wisconsin Fishing License, rain gear, warm clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses, camera, food/snacks, kids life jacket, headlight for night fishing, bug spray, and a cooler to carry your fish home.
I have a reliable 16.5 ft deep-v fishing boat with 50hp motor, comfortably fits two guests. Please be advised that for safety, we do have to follow the boat's weight limit guidelines.
Any fishing guide who guarantees you'll catch fish should make you think twice. Mother Nature is unpredictable - that includes rain and inclement weather, droughts (low water), flooding (high, rapidly moving water), and a host of other factors. With cold fronts, low water conditions in our lakes and rivers, no one can guarantee that every trip will produce fish (and what would be fun in that? If you want a guarantee, go to the grocery store!)
With over 20 years of fishing experience in the Madison Chain of Lakes, I promise to give each guest a scenic, everlasting fishing experience in the beautiful City of Madison and its surrounded communities.
The State of Wisconsin allows for a maximum limit of 25 catfish. However, in respect of our resources, Catfish King has a maximum limit of 10 catfish. Other fish limits apply.
No! We also guide for bluegills, crappies, white bass, smallies, and walleyes.
Absolutely no smoking and all drinks must be in a spill proof container (due to carpet staining). Pretty easy, huh?
